Learn how to paint a still life in oils
June 6 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£60
Artists throughout history have been inspired by the object around them and have used oil paints to capture their essence. Fruit, flowers, pots and other inanimate items have time and again sparked inspiration. However without knowing the fundamentals of proportion, relative proportion, composition and the relationships of objects, creating a confident and lifelike still life is difficult. Equally oil paints can be tricky if you don’t understand their properties, such as how to mix them, application and and the drying process.
Within this workshop, classically trained artist Bakhtiar Umataliev will take you through the journey of creating your own oil painted still life, teaching you how to compose your painting and accurately draw it out as well as how to work with and apply the oil paints. This workshop is suitable for total beginners as well as the more accomplished. Please bring lunch plus your own materials if possible. Gift vouchers available!
