The ArtShack, Shrewsbury

Reviews

The Art Shack is a gem. It has a magical, inspirational, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, ethos and energy. From day 1 I was really impressed with the range of the arts and crafts on offer, enabling participants to specialise and develop their niche area or experiment and explore different activities.

At 12, I was written off at school as having no artistic talent whatsoever, the nurturing, support and encouragement from The Art Shack professional team has quickly dispelled that belief. Maggie, Jack and Nada have encouraged my new passion for linocut and drawing. I like being able to ask questions without feeling an idiot. Ask a question and the answer is facilitated in such a way options are presented and you are able to answer your own question. The team empower you – they are so skilful. You work at your own pace there is never any pressure – just a very talented team to answer questions and offer guidance. Everyone is treated as an individual and encouraged to develop their strengths.

It’s very early days for my linocut journey and drawing journey but I know I am in safe, nurturing hands with the Art Shack Team. Highly recommended for the those who can and those folks like me who were told they couldn’t. The Art Shack is magical – the place where dreams come true.

Perfect for all skillsets.. whether you are arty or crafty, you don’t have to be able to draw to create amazing projects. it is such an amazing therapeutic atmosphere. I went with my wheelchair with no problems. you don’t need to take anything with you, just you and your creative mind. Was the best money I’ve spent for an afternoon of great company and I have walked away feeling like I have accomplished something I am proud of.

I’ve been at Artshack since August. It’s the highlight of my week. I have tried many different techniques, some things I’ve never considered before , others I’ve wanted to try but never had the confidence. I’ve been encouraged and stretched in my art . It’s a wonderful creative environment and so friendly and welcoming. Long live Artshack!

Attended my first class at the Art Shack last Saturday. What a wonderful creative space, everyone was so friendly and the facilitators were so patient and supportive. Excellent value too. I was so pleased with my enamelled necklace – will definitely attend more workshops. Thanks to Maggie for being so patient with my poor sense of direction! Thank you all for a lovely morning being creative.

I went today for the first time and really enjoyed the Bellydance Workshop – we learned two lovely dances and went over some basic moves in detail. Sue is a lovely dancer and teacher and Maggie made me feel welcome too. The other ladies were friendly and I’d love to come again! 😊💃

My daughter regularly attends classes at the Artshack, she is in her final school year and just taking her GCSE’s but totally loves the creative time spent with Maggie and Jack who are inspirational, always providing positivity and getting the best out of my daughter. She has produced some exceptional work whilst attending the Artshack. Definitely a 5* experience.
